ART 1010 Found Art Project
Found Art Reflection
The title for this work is " Best in Show", the dimensions are 11.5 Inches high by 6 inches wide and 12 inches long. The materials used to create this piece of art are as follows:
The Sculpture as assembled by using a lighter to heat and then bend the plastic to shape it and get the correct form, then the bottles were cut and sized to fit. After all of the pieces were cut and bended Hot Glue was used to secure the legs, neck, and head to the body as well as the tail and ears. My thought process when I was making this centered primarily on the idea of making something simple yet appealing, I didn't want it to be too complicated as that takes away from the final product and if it were too simple it wouldn't be a good piece of art, so I used plastic for the entire sculpture because it is easy to acquire, and it is a mold-able material when used with heat. There were no major challenges with this sculpture other than being patient while the glue and plastic dried after being heated, which being patient and having a steady hand helped with. Personally I enjoyed creating this sculpture and due to limited materials it didn't turn out exactly how I'd hoped but it did turn out as intended, the only thing I would change about this sculpture would be the quality of materials used, house hold plastic is easy to mold and bend but lacks quality and ease of use. |
